Paula Lane announces she's quitting Coronation St after six years
She has rapidly become one of the street's most exciting characters, but now Paula Lane, who played Kylie Platt , has announced she's leaving Corrie.
The actress is pregnant with her second baby, but unlike the first time, where she simply went on maternity leave, Paula is now moving on to pastures new.
So it's official, I can now confirm I'm leaving Coronation Street this summer after a wonderful 5 years. It's time to fly the nest…

As well as tweeting about her departure, she also released the following statement:
‘This has not been an easy decision for me to make. I have enjoyed every moment of my time on Coronation Street and learnt so much in the process.
‘I have an amazing on-screen family who have become friends for life so this decision was not taken lightly. But sometimes you just have to follow your heart and I am excited about what the future has to offer both personally and professionally.’
The makers of Corrie have promised Paula a 'huge top secret storyline' for her exit, due to air this summer, and knowing Kylie's fiery personality, we do not doubt it's gonna be a biggie.
We'll miss you, Kylie. :(
